About Your Piano Teacher
Here you will find information about your piano teacher - Raisa.

Hello!

My name is Raisa Parmentier Isaacs

I taught advanced students at the Ufa State Institute of Arts and Eastern Michigan University and gifted beginners at the Special School for Gifted Children of the USII and at my private studio for more then 30 years.

I was working at Neighborhood Music School of Georgia State University in Atlanta, at the Georgia Perimeter College, at the Music School Do-Re-Mi, at the Renhardt College, at Renaissance Music School, and at my private studio in Alpharetta.

I am a final round judge of the PIANOVISION Competition and a faculty member of the International Summer Academy in Germany

I am a member of Music Teachers National Association since 1993. I am working with the dedicated and seriously oriented young students (intermediate to advanced level) and adults, and prepare students for colleges and universities.

My Piano Performance method includes historical approach/style in the interpretation of the different compositions; improving and developing freedom and relaxed body motions piano technique, based on the personal physical abilities of each student; introduction and implementing the latest researches in the World Piano Pedagogy

I offer coaching Chamber Music groups.
Problems of Piano Chamber Music Performance would be considerate during the sessions. Interpretation, equality, independence and interplay of the parts, unification string/piano – wind/piano, string, wind/piano sound, articulation and dynamics will be main approach in the process of ensembles creating.

I am a specialist in Baroque Music. I studied my second instrument, harpsichord, at the Moscow Collegiums of Early Music and at the School of Music of the University of Michigan. I offer harpsichord lessons for beginners to advanced level. Intermediate level on the piano required.

I teach on a Flemish Harpsichord, beginners to intermediate levels. The main principals of baroque performance: phrasing, articulation, ornamentation, and tempo would be discussed altogether with learning hand/body position and harpsichord touch. Features of Baroque Performance in England, Italy, France, Spain and Germany of the early 17th to middle 18th centuries would be embraced.

My students are consistently winners of the competitions. They steadily receive Outstanding Performer and Superior/Superior+ grades in the festivals and auditions. Many students pursue a career in music.
