My name is Raisa Parmentier Isaacs
I earned my Master degree in Piano Performance, Pedagogy, Accompaniment
and Chamber Music and Doctoral Degree in Chamber Music and Pedagogy
in Kazan, Russia. I enhanced my knowledge in post-doctoral courses
with the leading professors of Moscow Conservatory and Academy by
Gnesinuch.
I taught advanced students at the Ufa State Institute of Arts and
Eastern Michigan University and gifted beginners at the Special School
for Gifted Children of the USII and at my private studio for more
then 30 years.
I was working at Neighborhood Music School of Georgia State University
in Atlanta, at the Georgia Perimeter College, at the Music School
Do-Re-Mi, at the Renhardt College, at Renaissance Music School, and
at my private studio in Alpharetta.
I am a final round judge of the PIANOVISION Competition and a faculty
member of the International Summer Academy in Germany
I am a member of Music Teachers National Association since 1993.
I am working with the dedicated and seriously oriented young students
(intermediate to advanced level) and adults, and prepare students
for colleges and universities.
My Piano Performance method includes historical approach/style in
the interpretation of the different compositions; improving and developing
freedom and relaxed body motions piano technique, based on the personal
physical abilities of each student; introduction and implementing
the latest researches in the World Piano Pedagogy
I offer coaching Chamber Music groups.
Problems of Piano Chamber Music Performance would be considerate during
the sessions. Interpretation, equality, independence and interplay
of the parts, unification string/piano – wind/piano, string,
wind/piano sound, articulation and dynamics will be main approach
in the process of ensembles creating.
I am a specialist in Baroque Music. I studied my second instrument,
harpsichord, at the Moscow Collegiums of Early Music and at the School
of Music of the University of Michigan. I offer harpsichord lessons
for beginners to advanced level. Intermediate level on the piano required.
I teach on a Flemish Harpsichord, beginners to intermediate levels.
The main principals of baroque performance: phrasing, articulation,
ornamentation, and tempo would be discussed altogether with learning
hand/body position and harpsichord touch. Features of Baroque Performance
in England, Italy, France, Spain and Germany of the early 17th to
middle 18th centuries would be embraced.
My students are consistently winners of the competitions. They steadily
receive Outstanding Performer and Superior/Superior+ grades in the
festivals and auditions. Many students pursue a career in music.
