For seriously
oriented students I will provide the best knowledge of European School
of Piano Performance for growing up a pianist-professional. It will
help them to continue their studying on the college and conservatory
level at any college in USA and Europe.
For
those who will not choose a career in music, my goal is to help each
one to develop a love and appreciation of music. I hope that music
will be an avenue of fulfillment and a source of joy that will last
them a lifetime.
My course
offers private lessons for all ages and abilities. It teaches how
to read music, solve piano performance problems, and develop ear awareness.
It introduces to basic music theory and improvisation, and music history
and appreciation.
Students
will learn a wide variety of musical styles from classical to modern,
hymns, pop, and old time favorites
My computer lab includes software for sight-reading and theory improvement.
Read
how researches provide us with information on music lessons and brain
development:
“…early
exposure to music may help to preserve some of the millions brain
cells a baby born with that might otherwise be lost without use”.
--Judy Foreman, Boston Globe
“What
scientists do know is that keyboard instruction—making music,
not just hearing it—seems to resonate with the brain…After
year of twice-a-week piano lessons, a recent study in California found,
second graders from a poor district improved their math scores to
those of forth grades from an affluent one”. --SB, Newsweek

“In
recent years, a flood of research has shown that music can raise OQ
and boost standardized test scores”.
--Ellen Pollock, The Wall Street Journal
Successful
Piano Lessons
Practice
at home is a key ingredient of music study. The practice
assignment will be clear and easy to follow at home. Regular
practice develops musical understanding as well as muscle flexibility
and control.
At the beginning of the school year, parents and students are asked
to sign Agreement for weekly practice. Students will document their
practice time in their assignment book. Twice in a year on recitals
student with the most practice time for his grade will be recognized
and rewarded.
Practice
time:
- Beginning
15-30 min. per day
- Second
and Third year 30-45 min per day
- Fourth
and Fifth year 45min - 1 hour per day
- Sixth
year or more I hour and more per day
Parents
are always welcome to observe the piano lessons
With
younger children (6-7 years old) it is necessary for parents to know
their assignments, so that the student can be helped when they practice
at home. Parents or any other adults’ assistance and involvement
are required for this age at my studio.
